UPC Coupon Value Codes *above table from GS1 US (formerly the Uniform Code Council) Joint Industry Coupon Committee announces new Coupon Value Codes In an effort to more effectively meet the promotional needs of manufacturers that issue cents-off coupons for their products, the Joint Industry Coupon Committee (JICC) recently announced the following additions to and deletions from the Coupon Value Code Table. The two-digit Value Code represents the dollar and cent value of the coupon (or validates a free item) when specific purchase requirements have been met by the consumer. Effective July 1, 2000, the following five new Value Codes will be in effect. Retailers may add the new Value Codes to their tables anytime prior to July 1 as they are not currently defined. Valid New Value Codes as of July 1, 2000 Value Code Purchase Requirements 05 $1.40 off one 07 Buy three or more, get $1.50 off 08 Buy two or more, get $3.00 off 09 Buy three or more, get $2.00 off 13 Buy four or more, get $1.00 off Also effective July 1, 2000, the following three existing Value Codes are being eliminated and placed back in a "Reserved for Future Use" status. As of July 1, 2000, these Value Codes should be deactivated by manufacturers and no coupons with these values should be in distribution. Further, retailers should delete these values from their Value Code Tables at the same time they activate the five new Codes listed above.
